I think Char and Tom’s Hare and Hounds, Tetbury wedding will forever be legendary for Winter Bennett Weddings.
Marrying at the end of July 2021, it was the first post-covid wedding we had booked, and Dean’s second time filming a wedding at all.
Usually, if videography is booked without photography (meaning Dean and not me), I will accompany/drive/second shoot/keep company. I almost always take all of my kit with me, even if it won’t be required for filming – just because I feel better having it, I guess.
Char booked us quite close to the wedding day and we were so excited, if a little nervous to get back to weddings again! But we needn’t have worried – Tom and Char are one of the nicest, most laid-back couples we’ve had the pleasure of knowing. And with what was about to happen on their wedding day, thank god they were.
We arrived slightly earlier than we said, so we could get our bearings and say hello before getting the gear out to start filming. It wasn’t long before I noticed the photographer hadn’t turned up, and following a chasing call from Char to their booked photographer, wires had crossed and no photographer arrived. Fortunately, since I had all my gear with me, I was able to step in (meaning no additional video footage, but worth it to get the photos!). Char was the most chilled (I know I wouldn’t have been…!) and it allowed us to just have the best day capturing the two of them, their family and their friends.
Not everything goes to plan on your wedding day, but if you can turn it around, that’s the main thing.
From flower boys (best thing I’ve seen) to a beautiful venue, an incredibly talented string trio and a gorgeous sunset, this wedding had it all. Also, Char was gluten-free, which was a nice little bond for her and Dean.
Thank you, Char and Tom, for not only being the best couple, but also giving us the best introduction back into weddings after such a long time without them!
“We booked Dean and Becky to film our wedding day. They are soooo lovely and make you feel at ease straight away. It was like we’d known them forever.
We had someone else booked for photos and as I was having my makeup done, we were laughing and joking about the other company not coming as they were what we thought was running late. I then called to check in and had every bride’s nightmare, they had the wrong date. They were also two hours away…
Becky straight away said she’d step in for us. She had all her gear, pulled her sleeves up and jumped on it and really saved my day.
Both Becky and Dean worked together beautifully, and I honestly think it couldn’t have worked out better. We were so comfortable and had so much fun. During our ceremony I didn’t even notice them.
If you’re reading reviews looking for a videographer or photographer, just book them. They’re amazing.
Thank you both x
Finally, see below the pics and video from the day. The video still makes me cry, even on the 500th viewing. And if you’re thinking of having a Hare and Hounds, Tetbury wedding, get in touch with us!
