Glewstone Court is a beautiful Georgian manor house set within the Herefordshire countryside, surrounded by fields and even an impressive apple orchard.
We were both there in October to photograph and film at Glewstone Court to capture the wedding of lovely Shannon and Jordan. Having previously booked someone else to photograph and film their day, they ended up booking us last-minute (still experiencing covid issues of course!).
When we met them at the venue beforehand for a visit and run-through of their day, their love for one another shone through – and so did Jordan’s nerves for his speech! We go to so many weddings and see all kinds of styles and vibes, and it’s always so interesting to hear what each couple are most nervous about. It’s usually speeches, first dance or messing up saying their vows (we’ve watched this happen before too, and it’s always so heartwarming and cute!).
Needless to say, their speeches were wonderful, especially the zoomed best man speech all the way from Australia (3am their time!).
Glewstone Court lends itself really well to being a wedding venue. The bridal suite is one of the biggest you can imagine, with so much light and a beautiful bed; the room even has its own staircase entrance. From the perspective of a wedding photographer and videographer it’s absolutely perfect as it gives us loads of room to manoeuvre ourselves, ample light and a gorgeous backdrop for our shots!
The ceremony room is lovely and intimate, filled with natural light through the big bay window, a warm, cosy atmosphere with a fireplace and soft red walls, and gorgeous flooring throughout.
In fact, a Glewstone Court wedding would be perfect at Christmas (it was actually one we considered ourselves before going down the DIY route) as there are fireplaces in just about every room and it absolutely oozes cosiness and comfort.
The grounds are just spectacular! The apple orchard at the front of the building is enormous, and makes for such a gorgeous backdrop, whatever the weather. The gardens immediately in front of the entrance lend themselves to be the perfect spot for family and formal photos, with the distant views of the rolling Herefordshire countryside behind.
Shannon and Jordan opted to have an indoor ceremony and an outdoors/indoors drinks reception, giving us plenty of different areas to photograph and film.
Shannon’s granddad walked her down the aisle – we also had our first look with him. It was such a special moment to witness the love and affection they both have for each other; her granddad was as proud as punch walking her down the aisle to meet Jordan! Shannon looked incredible in her dress and veil, complete with elements of her nan’s dress stitched into hers.
Jordan scrubbed up very well in his navy blue suit, and looked so smart against beautiful Shannon.
And last but not least, the dance floor was one of the best we’ve experienced! The DJ really knew how to put on a party, and everyone danced the night away (quite literally!).
We had an absolute blast at your Glewstone Court wedding, guys, and are so happy we were able to capture your day! Thank you for inviting us 🙂
If you happen to be getting married at Glewstone Court or another venue and need a photographer or videographer, please take a look through our previous work and don’t hesitate to contact us!
