In the middle of July, once the Confetti Fields had closed for the year, it was time to move to the Lavender Fields, just outside Snowshill, in the beautiful Cotswolds.
Close your eyes and imagine fields of purple, the gorgeous smell of lavender creeping through, captivating all who walk through it. The location is at the top of a hill, giving amazing views across Broadway and Worcestershire.
Lavender began growing at the farm in 1999 with just a modest crop. Fast forward to now and there are over 40 different varieties, with 140 total miles and over 500,000 plants in total. It truly is a spectacle.
Charlotte and Jamie got engaged last year, and are due to get married next March. They decided to arrange an engagement photoshoot at the lavender fields, complete with their little dog, Lelah. Jamie works away a lot, so for them to get some beautiful photos of the two (three) of them was something they could treasure forever.
We met on a stiflingly hot day – poor Lelah struggled a little in the heat and so we made sure to not spend too long out there. There is NO shade!
Charlotte and Lelah have been a family for a long time, where Jamie and Charlotte have been together for a couple of years. Introducing Lelah to Jamie was a big deal for Charlotte; fortunately, the two get on like a house on fire!
We made the most of every corner of the lavender fields for their engagement photoshoot, giving them time to get used to being in front of the camera. We worked together to create some natural, fun images of the two of them, along with some gorgeous photos of Lelah too.
If you have pets and have toyed with the idea of bringing them along to a photoshoot, please do! Pets add so much character to photos; from their own little nuances to bringing out your emotions too.
