Sandy Cove Hotel wedding venue

Sandy Cove Hotel Wedding | Photography & Videography

Sam and Lisa had a Sandy Cove Hotel wedding on March 17th 2020.

One week before lockdown. One week before the world for everybody was turned upside down and life as we knew it was no longer the same.

Can you even remember life before lockdown?! Isn’t it crazy how much can happen in the space of, literally, one week?!

How lucky were Sam and Lisa to still be able to go ahead with their full numbers, suppliers and venue? It was the best day, filled with laughter and love, even despite the rain.

Sandy Cove Hotel is a beautiful, modern venue near Ilfracombe in North Devon, overlooking the sea. Tucked away on the edge of the cliffs, the rocky outlook is truly stunning. The main ceremony room features floor-to-ceiling glass windows, making the most of the incredible backdrop overlooking the headland, perfect for watching the weather dramatically change.

Not only that – there is a secluded beach not far away, Broadsands Beach, and if you’re lucky enough to escape down here for photos, this is amazing!

Despite the weather not being entirely on our side, we were able to capture some beautiful moments of Sam and Lisa’s wedding day.

And what a day it was! Despite raining the whole morning up until after the ceremony, Sam and Lisa had the best time, getting ready in the morning with their bridesmaids and groomsmen, building up their nerves to the ceremony, and then finally saying “I do” in front of their nearest and dearest. A particularly sweet moment was little George also coming down the aisle in Lisa’s arms.

Eventually the rain decided to move away and we were able to go outside for family photos and some fun romantic ones of Sam and Lisa overlooking the bay.

We were lucky to be included in the head count for food – and it was absolutely delicious!! We’re grateful for any food provided to us at weddings, but this was a real treat being counted as a guest and having the three course meal ?

Finally, it was time for some boogy-ing, the macarena (obviously) and the first dance, before the party continued long into the night.

Sam and Lisa, we had such a good time at one of the nicest venues we’ve been to, and can’t wait to go back for another Sandy Cove Hotel Wedding!

Check out the video and photos from the day below, and get in touch with us if you’re considering this venue!
