Tom and Alicia were married on a gorgeous sunny September Saturday at The Barn at Upcote, nestled in the Cotswolds.
I’d previously spoken to Alicia via zoom and instantly clicked – I was so excited to play such an important part in her wedding to lovely Tom.
This was our first time at the venue, and wow-ee! It’s a stunner. The epitome of a rustic barn in the Cotswolds, embracing the iconic Cotswold stone, it’s so thoughtfully laid out and perfect for a wedding.
The Wedding Day
Alicia and her bridesmaids got ready in the Hay Barn Honeymoon Suite, while Tom opted to join his groomsmen in the Pods tucked away from the venue, yet only a short walk away.
The flowers, all sunflower themed, had been curated by Alicia’s incredibly talented mum – and they were a real showstopper. Milk urns framed the ceremony table, filled with enormous sunflowers, all grown especially for the day.
The ceremony was as perfect as you could imagine, surrounded by their family and friends to witness them tie the knot.
We were blessed with gorgeous sunshine, meaning we were able to have the drinks reception outside on the lawn, before retiring back into the ceremony room for their speeches and wedding food.
Couple photos were taken across the grounds, from the driveway and barns around the venue, to the “secret garden”, complete with its own lake and landscaped gardens. Alicia and Tom embraced having photos of themselves, keeping it really relaxed and natural yet oozing romance and newlywed bliss!
The evening set was electric, with throwback songs played by the DJ giving everyone the chance to let their hair down and have a proper boogie!
This day really was a gorgeous one, and we’re so excited that we’ll be back photographing and videoing a Barn at Upcote wedding in 2024!
A Word From The Happy Couple
These words from Alicia and Tom are just the icing on the cake too:
“Becky captured our wedding photos on the 10/09/22 – when I was researching a photographer for our wedding I was looking for someone who could capture the ‘moments’ of the day in a candid and natural way which we could look back on and it would take it straight back to that moment and Becky did absolutely this, we love our photos and she captured the atmosphere of our special day.
Throughout all of the process (which was during Covid) we had a Zoom calls as an introduction and she was really friendly and allowed me to ask all the questions I needed. On our wedding day it was great to see a friendly face and she helped put me at ease. Becky captured all of the important parts of our day including couple shots and group photos which we love and she was able to fade into the background to get all those special shots including our first dance. I cannot recommend Becky enough, thank you again for capturing our day!”
