Late August gave us one of those golden, mellow days – the kind that’s perfect for a countryside wedding. We were at the wonderful Barn at Upcote, Cheltenham, again – two years after Alicia and Tom’s gorgeous day. This time it was the wedding of our friend (and mortgage adviser!) Ade and his lovely partner Faye. Their day blended British and Nigerian traditions, and was so special.
As a husband and wife photography and videography team based in Worcester, we’ve been lucky enough to capture weddings at this venue before, but returning for Ade and Faye’s big day was so lovely, and such an honour! Ade has already helped us move house three times, so it felt only right that we capture his day and return the favour. Having photographed their engagement shoot at the Confetti Fields, we already had the pleasure of meeting their two gorgeous sons, so the whole day felt like reuniting with old friends.
The ceremony was relaxed and heartfelt, full of genuine emotion and quiet smiles. Faye had recently lost her beloved dad, so it was an emotional day all-round. But the magic truly came alive in the mix of cultures and personalities woven throughout the celebration. Ade brought a touch of Nigerian heritage into the day – most strikingly through his traditional outfit, mirrored by his groomsmen.
Faye looked stunning – elegant, radiant, and absolutely glowing as she walked down the aisle with her mum. Their boys were stars of the show too, full of energy, pride, and cheeky grins, and it was clear how close this family is.
The Barn at Upcote, Cheltenham, once again gave us those dreamy textures and tones we love so much – stone walls, wooden beams, and rolling fields just made for golden hour portraits. We stole a few quiet moments with Ade and Faye out in the meadows, where the light was soft and everything felt perfectly peaceful.
The rest of the day was full of laughter, dancing, emotional speeches, and a whole lot of celebrating. Ade and Faye’s friends and family brought the love in full force, and we couldn’t have been more honoured to be part of it all.
