On a sunny, fresh spring morning in April, we hopped down the M5 for Char and Tom’s military wedding at Eastington Park. Nestled in the heart of Gloucestershire, not far from Stroud, this stunning Georgian manor is an absolute gem – and trust us, it photographs beautifully!
Char got ready with her beautiful bridesmaids and family beforehand at The Lodge at Eastington Park, before making her way in a stunning CAR. The morning was a pretty relaxed affair, giving us time to fly the drone around the estate, and capture some truly lovely moments of the group getting ready together.
Just before it was time to leave, we moved across to the main building for final touchups and getting dressed. The bridal suite was a perfect space for some gorgeous photos of Char, and leant itself so well as the backdrop for Char’s first look with her dad. We love a first look, be it with parents, siblings, children or friends, they’re always incredibly emotional and personal.
Char and Tom opted to marry at St Peter’s Church in Gloucester, a large church set in the centre of the city. Tom, being in the army, wore full military dress and looked so smart, especially standing next to his incredibly elegant new wife. Their vicar was a family relation of Tom’s, making the ceremony even more meaningful!
Post ceremony we headed back for the reception. Eastington Park is such a gorgeous venue. In Cotswold stone, with its sweeping driveway and extensive gardens, it’s a dream backdrop for wedding photography and videography. We especially love the spiral staircase in the hallway, and how bright and airy all the rooms are.
We opted to throw confetti and have all the group photos outside the main entrance as soon as everyone arrived, which gave them the wow factor and meant no one had escaped for drinks yet!
We utilised all the grounds for couple photos, including the gorgeous secret garden, which was lined with daffodils.
Char and Tom really know how to throw a party: after a change of clothes in the evening, they played a fab game of Mr and Mrs, before a perfectly choreographed first dance. Their guests then joined them on the dancefloor for a night of boogying.
