Almost exactly 4 years to the day, we were back at Sandy Cove Hotel for Tom and Tracy’s British/Indian fusion wedding in February. Having been there in 2020 for Sam and Lisa’s Sandy Cove Hotel wedding, we were thrilled to return and spend the day by the seaside.
Despite the rain (that annoying fine rain that makes your hair go crazy), it was such a dreamy day.
Tracy had actually reached out back in 2017 when Becky was photographing under Becky Winter Photography, for their wedding originally booked for 2019 in London. Due to various reasons they pushed back to 2020; and we all know what happened then. After a couple more date changes, they finally settled on February 2024 in Devon – and how lucky that it was somewhere we’d been before (not that that matters! But it’s always nice to return to familiar venues).
It was so lovely to finally meet Tracy and Tom and see them actually tie the knot – twice – in front of their family and friends.
They opted for a short legal ceremony first t hing in the morning at the hotel in front of immediate family, before parting ways for a couple of hours to get ready for the main Indian/British ceremony with a celebrant in the new Seascape ceremony room – this didn’t exist last time we were here, and it’s such an amazing space! Perfect for indoor ceremonies when the weather isn’t on your side, overlooking the bay.
The ceremony was every bit emotional, moving, and so beautiful, with numerous nods to Tracy’s heritage, alongside the most heartfelt, handwritten vows you could imagine. There was also the cutest moment when pup Leo got involved.
And let’s take a moment for Tracy’s outfit – absolutely incredible! She just looked gorgeous in green; and so well matched next to Tom in his dashing wedding suit.
Tracy and Tom were brave enough to venture down to the nearby beach for couple photos, and while the weather may have been miserable, the photos came out so well, really showing their love for one another. The rain also meant we had the beach almost to ourselves, which was just dreamy. Tracy wore Becky’s wellies to save her gigantic heels – which made for fab photos too!
Afterwards we had speeches, delicious food, cake and a gorgeous first dance before the evening party started.
All in all, a fabulous day, and totally worth the wait!
We really love a Sandy Cove wedding, and would absolutely dream of coming back in the summer when it’s a nice day, we can have an outdoor ceremony, and really take our time on the beach!
